Alpha Phi
Alpha Phi is a sisterhood of outstanding women supporting one another in lifelong achievement. Founded at Syracuse University by ten of the first twenty women admitted to the newly opened university. The Original Ten Founders were women of courageous vision and pioneering hearts. Pursuing their studies in a male-dominated university, these women yearned for a circle of friends who could sympathize with each other’s troubles and support each other’ ambitions. On September 18, 1872, these ten women initiated themselves into Alpha Phi.
Alpha Phi enhances and promotes each member’s development and learning by focusing on sisterhood, service, scholarship, leadership, loyalty and character. At The University of Georgia, our sisters share a commitment to excellence and a strong desire to help one another and their communities.
Our sisters live out our values through their leadership and service activities in UGA MIRACLE, Relay for Life, Army ROTC, Special Olympics, and Extra Special People. Their commitment to academic achievement is evidenced through membership in Order of Omega, Golden Key, UGA Honors Program, and National Society of Leadership and Success. Many Alpha Phi’s also enjoy representing the University and supporting their fellow student through activities such as UGA Diamond Darlings, the Equestrian Team, Club Cheerleaders and the Majorettes.

Alpha Phi looks forward to the completion of our new home, The Dearing-Wilkins Alpha Phi house, located at 387 S. Milledge Ave. the facility will house 45 members and provide a wonderful space for our members to create a lifetime of memories!
