PANHELLENIC COUNCIL

OUR MISSION

Guided by values of sisterhood, scholarship, and service, the Panhellenic Council champions cooperation, cohesiveness, integrity, and lifelong friendships. We facilitate inclusive recruitment, foster a supportive community, and cultivate leaders who embody these principles. Through service initiatives, social events, and educational programs, we enrich the collegiate experience and inspire women to make a positive impact on campus and beyond.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to the Panhellenic Council! The sorority experience changes your life during college and for life afterward. Not only will you be uplifted by an entire community to become the best version of yourself, but you will grow into someone ready to tackle whatever life throws at you. Panhellenic women are high achieving, embrace an amazing support system, chase opportunities, make Athens a better place, and most importantly, help UGA feel like home. Each chapter has unique values, characteristics, and are full of incredible leaders, mentors, and stewards. The Panhellenic Council means the world to me, and if you’d like to learn more, I hope you’ll reach out.
Go Dawgs!

Dabney Duncan
Panhellenic Council President

HOW TO JOIN

We have two main periods of recruitment: Fall Primary Recruitment and Continuous Open Bidding (COB). During Fall Recruitment, you get the chance to preview all 20 chapters through a structured week-long mutual selection process. This provides you a better sense for each chapter’s values and culture. COB is a less formal process, in which you can meet with participating chapters through fun meet and greets. COB takes place following Fall Recruitment and in the Spring semester.

Overwhelmed by the options? Submit an interest form and we’ll keep you up-to-date on future new member opportunities or provide you with advisement.

ACADEMICS AND SCHOLARSHIP

We strive to help all members excel academically. From scholastic incentive programs, pairing together study partners, tutoring programs and scholarships, we aim to provide support for every chapter member’s needs.

In the 2023 Spring Semester, 91% of our 5,820 women achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher with the average GPA a 3.62.

CREATING A POSITIVE IMPACT

Serving our community— both through our time and fundraising— is a major component of sorority life. Each of our chapters support both a local and national philanthropy. Some of the organizations we proudly support are the American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Club, Dawg Day of Service and more. Get connected and learn more on how you can make a difference, too.
