COUNCILS AND CHAPTERS

WHAT IS A COUNCIL?

Councils are the umbrella governing bodies that oversee Greek organizations, like fraternity and sorority chapters. Their role is to set rules, promote unity, and organize events for their chapters. At UGA, there are four greek councils: Interfraternity Council, National Pan-hellenic Council, Multicultural Greek Council, and Panhellenic Council.

Supporting 27 chapters, IFC fosters brotherhood, leadership, and service among fraternity members while upholding integrity and community engagement.

Supporting 7 chapters, NPHC promotes unity, scholarship, service, and cultural awareness among historically Black Greek-letter organizations on campus.

Supporting 13 chapters, MGC celebrates diversity, fosters inclusivity, and promotes cultural awareness among its member organizations.

Supporting 20 chapters, Panhellenic supports sisterhood, leadership, scholarship, and philanthropy among sorority members on campus.
