University of Georgia’s Shawn Powers Elected as new Student Director on the Delta Tau Delta International Board of Directors/Arch Chapter
Cleveland, OH – On August 2, 2024, during Delta Tau Delta’s biannual international convention, Karnea, Shawn Powers, a Senior at the University of Georgia, was elected as the second-ever Student Director on the fraternity’s governing board, the Arch Chapter. This historic election took place in front of over 500 Delts, including undergraduates, alumni, and guests from over 126 chapters.
Emilio Ferrara Receives Man of the Year, Scholar of the Year and Alpha Alumni Chapter Affiliate Awards
Lexington, Va. – Sigma Nu Fraternity is pleased to announce that Emilio D. Ferrara, IV of Atlanta received Sigma Nu Fraternity’s Man of the Year, Scholar of the Year, and Alpha Alumni Chapter Affiliate Awards for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Fraternity salutes Emilio and this year’s other distinguished award recipients as exceptional members of Sigma Nu Fraternity whose service and leadership exemplify the Fraternity’s mission to develop ethical leaders.
A Summer of Success: ZTA Wins Top Honors at International Convention
This summer, the Gamma Pi chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) at the University of Georgia received major accolades at the 46th International Zeta Tau Alpha Convention for the 2022-2024 biennium. Their chapter was awarded the Helen Margaret Harrison Award for Most Outstanding Chapter, Crown Chapter Award, Academic Achievement Award, Helping Hands Award, Quota/Total Award, and the Founders Club for the $200,000 level.
Panhellenic Organizations Help To Combat Food Insecurity On Campus
Hundreds of cans and nonperishable food products line the shelves in a small room in the back corner of the Tate Student Center’s first floor. What people walking through the building might not realize is that inside that tiny room, workers are providing food to hungry University of Georgia students.
