A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to the University of Georgia’s National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)!

My name is Bria Smith, and I am honored to serve as this year’s NPHC President. Our council is home to eight historically Black Greek-letter organizations representing more than 200 students who are committed to excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, and community Engagement.

While our numbers may appear small on a campus as large as UGA, I see more than 200 opportunities to create meaningful change, inspire innovation, and celebrate the rich diversity that strengthens our university. Through our collective efforts, our members continue to demonstrate the values of Greek excellence while making a lasting impact both on campus and throughout the surrounding community.

For nearly a century, the organizations that comprise NPHC have stood as pillars of resilience, advocacy, and achievement. Founded during a time when opportunities were limited, these organizations were built on a commitment to uplifting communities, fostering academic success, and cultivating leaders dedicated to service. Today, that legacy continues through the work of our members who strive to honor the past while shaping for a brighter future.

Whether you are interested in learning more about our organizations, attending one of our events, or becoming part of our community, we welcome you with open arms. NPHC is more than a council—it is a family united by purpose, tradition, and a shared commitment to excellence. I invite you to explore all that our organizations have to offer and discover the impact of the Divine Nine at the University of Georgia.

President, National Pan-Hellenic Council

HOW TO JOIN

Each prospective member must attend one of our “Meet the Greeks” events at the beginning of either fall or spring semester. This not only gives you a chance to preview all our chapters but gain a better sense for their values and culture. New member process is dictated by each individual chapter, however, we’re here to help you along the way.

Overwhelmed by the options or missed our most recent “Meet the Greeks?” Submit an interest form and we’ll keep you up-to-date on future new member opportutnities or provide you with advisement.

ACADEMICS AND SCHOLARSHIP

We strive to help all members excel academically. From scholastic incentive programs, pairing together study partners, tutoring programs and scholarships, we aim to provide support for every chapter member’s needs.

CREATING A POSITIVE IMPACT

Serving our community is a major component of fraternity life. We proudly support the Boys and Girls Club, The Sparrow’s Nest of Athens, roadside cleanups and more with both our time and fundraising efforts. Get connected and learn more on how you can make a difference, too.
