Zeta Tau Alpha

In 1898, nine young women at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia joined together in devotion to the right, the good and the true to form Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. At the University of Georgia, the Zetas strive to reflect their open motto “Seek the Noblest” in every aspect of their involvement on campus and in the community. The Gamma Pi chapter, chartered in 1949, is committed to excellence and continually receives national awards of the highest distinction. We are the only ZTA chapter across the United States to be awarded the Helen Margaret Harrison Award, #1 collegiate chapter, six times since its inception.

Zeta prides itself on exemplary leadership, involvement, and service. Members of Zeta Tau Alpha are active in UGA Cheerleading, UGA Miracle, Georgettes, UGA Equestrian, Dance Dawgs, Relay for Life, Orientation Leader, College Young Life, Crossroads, Hoop Girls, Wesley Foundation, Match Mates, UGA Heros, LeaderSHAPE, Visitors Center Staff and Diamond Darlings.

Academic achievement is also a high priority at Zeta. Many are part of the UGA Honors Program as well as Order of Omega. Members have been selected for Foundation Fellows and Leonard Leadership Scholarships. Zeta Tau Alpha consistently maintains a strong chapter grade point average that exceeds the overall University of Georgia student average.

Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy is breast cancer education and awareness. Through local and national partnerships, campus and community initiatives, and the distribution of pink ribbons since 1992, ZTA members are dedicated to our philanthropy. By spreading the message of breast cancer education and awareness, ZTA sisters are determined to diminish this disease. The Gamma Pi chapter has contributed over $1.1 million to the ZTA Foundation in their fundraising efforts over the years. The ZTA Foundation claims “Think Pink!” as a registered trademark to serve as the branding for our breast cancer education and awareness projects. Service is integral to the ZTA experience.

Zeta Tau Alpha welcomes you to the University of Georgia and wishes you the best of luck with Recruitment! GO DAWGS!!
