UGA Miracle Hosts First-Ever Miracle Midtown Event!
UGA® Miracle hosted their first large-scale external event, Miracle Midtown at Southern Brewing Company on November 6th, 2022. With four local bands performing, the community gathered for a night of food, live music and a time to enjoy together.
Starting at 5 p.m. on Sunday, the first performance was Three Sixteen then followed by the Ocho, Khaliko and the Josh Bennett Band. Besides listening to live music, attendees were able to test their skills with corn-hole, have their face painted by a few members of our amazing leadership team and enjoy the food truck, Burger 21.
Spearheaded by the External Director, Maddie Collins, and the membership co-chairs, Peyton Matt and Henry Sharp, Miracle Midtown was able to sell 350 tickets. “I am so proud of Peyton and Henry for all of the work and creativity this event took,” said Maddie Collins, “I was so happy to hear how many tickets we were able to sell with this being such a new event!”
The idea for this event came last year, and it has been months in the making. The co-chairs and Team Captains worked together to find potential bands, plan the event and make Miracle Midtown the most successful event yet! The difference in this event compared to others like the Back to School Bash is that our main goal is to incorporate our external members alongside their team captains rather than recruiting members or kicking off fundraising pushes. Our goal was to enjoy the company of all of our members, and Maddie says that we successfully did just that!
Huge thanks go to our amazing bands, Southern Brewing Company, Aubrey Entertainment, Burger 21 and Clay Henson Sound and Lights! We are also so grateful to everyone who came to the event and supported us!
