2024 Greek Awards Ceremony

On Sunday, November 10th, the University of Georgia's Greek Life Office hosted the 2024 Greek Awards Ceremony, bringing together chapter presidents, council members, officers, and advisors to celebrate the exceptional achievements of UGA’s four Greek councils and their members over the past year.

UGA Miracle Rallies Bulldog Nation in “Beyond Limits” to Support Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

UGA Miracle, the University of Georgia’s largest student-run philanthropy, completed its biggest fall fundraising campaign of the year, Beyond Limits, raising a remarkable $210,114.

Greek Life Director Joshua Welch to serve as President of the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors (AFA) for the 2025-2026 term

Joshua Welch, University of Georgia’s Greek Life Director has been elected to serve as the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors (AFA) President for the 2025-2026 term. The upcoming Annual Meeting for AFA takes place in Indianapolis in December, where Welch will step into this role through 2026.

Alpha Phi’s Annual “Mac & Phi’s” Event Raises Over $11,000 for Women’s Heart Health

On October 9th, 2024, Alpha Phi hosted its annual "Mac & Phi's" meal-on-the-lawn event, drawing over 800 attendees and raising more than $11,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation. This year’s event was one of the most successful in its history, highlighting the chapter’s strong commitment to philanthropy and its dedication to supporting women's heart health, leadership development, and academic scholarships.

UGA fraternity helps with post-Helene cleanup

On Oct. 6, eight students from the University of Georgia’s Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity traveled to the Augusta area to help with the storm recovery. They trimmed limbs, cleared yards and provided comfort and support.

University of Georgia’s Shawn Powers Elected as new Student Director on the Delta Tau Delta International Board of Directors/Arch Chapter

Cleveland, OH – On August 2, 2024, during Delta Tau Delta's biannual international convention, Karnea, Shawn Powers, a Senior at the University of Georgia, was elected as the second-ever Student Director on the fraternity’s governing board, the Arch Chapter. This historic election took place in front of over 500 Delts, including undergraduates, alumni, and guests from over 126 chapters.

Emilio Ferrara Receives Man of the Year, Scholar of the Year and Alpha Alumni Chapter Affiliate Awards

Lexington, Va. – Sigma Nu Fraternity is pleased to announce that Emilio D. Ferrara, IV of Atlanta received Sigma Nu Fraternity’s Man of the Year, Scholar of the Year, and Alpha Alumni Chapter Affiliate Awards for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Fraternity salutes Emilio and this year’s other distinguished award recipients as exceptional members of Sigma Nu Fraternity whose service and leadership exemplify the Fraternity’s mission to develop ethical leaders.

A Summer of Success: ZTA Wins Top Honors at International Convention

This summer, the Gamma Pi chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) at the University of Georgia received major accolades at the 46th International Zeta Tau Alpha Convention for the 2022-2024 biennium. Their chapter was awarded the Helen Margaret Harrison Award for Most Outstanding Chapter, Crown Chapter Award, Academic Achievement Award, Helping Hands Award, Quota/Total Award, and the Founders Club for the $200,000 level.
