Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment

Joining a sorority is an excellent way to meet new people and develop a community of valuable friendships. We encourage you to sign up for recruitment and find out why over 5,000 UGA women decided to go Greek. Because if not now, when?

UGA Hazing Policy

Hazing is defined as any intentional, negligent or reckless action, or situation-which causes another pain, embarrassment, ridicule or harassment, regardless of the willingness of the participant.

UGA’s 40 Under 40 Greek Alumni

Each year, the University of Georgia Alumni Association choses a group of alumni under the age of 40 that have experienced career achievements, achieved personal goals or have been involved in philanthropic efforts to be recognized as a 40 Under 40 recipient. The Greek Life Office at UGA is pleased to announce that 17 of the 40 2022 inductees are Greek alumni.

UGA Greek Life Recognized at Southeastern Greek Leadership Association Annual Conference

Each year at the Southeastern Greek Leadership Association Annual Conference, held in
Atlanta from February 10th-12th, fraternity and sorority communities, councils, and individuals are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments over the past year. These awards recognize excellence in leadership, philanthropy, community service, and academic
achievement among Greek communities. All four Greek Councils, represented by 26 students, and Greek Life staff attended this year’s conference and received the outstanding awards and recognitions below.

Sorority alumnae establish endowed scholarship

More than 100 alumnae of the University of Georgia’s Eta Xi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., gave a total of over $50,000 to establish the 1973 Eta Xi Alumni Association Inc. Georgia Commitment Scholarship, which will provide need-based aid to UGA students in perpetuity.

UGA Miracle’s 26th Annual Dance Marathon

Dance Marathon is UGA Miracle’s capstone event at the end of February, where participants and Miracle families come together for performances, dancing, and activities as they complete their last big fundraising push for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The event took place virtually from February 20th at 12:00 PM through February 21st at 2:12 PM. It was a fun-filled 26.2 hours, where they championed the miracle families and students.
