Order of Omega Selects Victor K. Wilson as the Spring 2023 Honorary Initiate

On Tuesday, April 11th, 2023, the Gamma Pi Chapter of Order of Omega honored Vice President for Student Affairs, Victor K. Wilson, as an honorary initiate at his alma mater as he plans to retire this September.

Order of Omega was founded at the University of Miami in the fall of 1959 by a group of outstanding fraternity men, who felt that individuals in the Greek community should be recognized for their service to the fraternity system and the University. This organization is the most prestigious Greek leadership honorary in the nation and is present on over 250 college campuses in the United States. The organization selects the top 5% of Greek leaders from each campus to be members of the honorary. Each member involves themselves within the Greek community, the campus at large, as well as the local community. The Gamma Pi Chapter at UGA was founded on July 15, 1980.

VP was initiated into the Georgia Delta Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon here at the University of Georgia. He has continued to show a tremendous amount of dedication to the Greek Life community here at UGA and nationally. He has served on Sig Ep’s national board, as a chapter advisor, and in other professional organizations as well at local community organizations, including serving on the boards of directors for St. Mary’s Hospital and the Northeast Georgia Red Cross. He is a strong advocate for students and their development throughout college, particularly the inclusion and success of students from historically underrepresented groups.

VP Wilson has truly embodied each of the principles of the organization and the executive thought it would be a meaningful opportunity to present him as a member of the Order of Omega chapter. Arham Shah, President of the Gamma Pi Chapter, said “It was an honor initiating Vice President Wilson. VP Wilson is the definition of a Greek leader and his impact on the Greek community has been phenomenal over the years. The executive board and I felt necessary to bring VP Wilson into the chapter of Order of Omega and thank him for his service.”
