Joshua Welch, University of Georgia’s Greek Life Director has been elected to serve as the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors (AFA) President for the 2025-2026 term. The upcoming Annual Meeting for AFA takes place in Indianapolis in December, where Welch will step into this role through 2026.

On October 9th, 2024, Alpha Phi hosted its annual “Mac & Phi’s” meal-on-the-lawn event, drawing over 800 attendees and raising more than $11,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation. This year’s event was one of the most successful in its history, highlighting the chapter’s strong commitment to philanthropy and its dedication to supporting women’s heart health, leadership development, and academic scholarships.

Cleveland, OH – On August 2, 2024, during Delta Tau Delta’s biannual international convention, Karnea, Shawn Powers, a Senior at the University of Georgia, was elected as the second-ever Student Director on the fraternity’s governing board, the Arch Chapter. This historic election took place in front of over 500 Delts, including undergraduates, alumni, and guests from over 126 chapters.

This summer, the Gamma Pi chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) at the University of Georgia received major accolades at the 46th International Zeta Tau Alpha Convention for the 2022-2024 biennium. Their chapter was awarded the Helen Margaret Harrison Award for Most Outstanding Chapter, Crown Chapter Award, Academic Achievement Award, Helping Hands Award, Quota/Total Award, and the Founders Club for the $200,000 level.

What people walking through the building might not realize is that inside that tiny room, workers are providing food to hungry University of Georgia students.
