Alpha Phi Hosts Annual Red Dress Gala

On February 10th, the Kappa Epsilon chapter of Alpha Phi hosted their 5th annual Red Dress Gala. The gala was held at the Classic Center and raised $14,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation, the organization’s national philanthropy.

The Red Dress Gala celebrated the end of Heart Health Week, a week dedicated to spreading awareness regarding women’s heart health within the community. The gala hosted nearly 900 guests and parents were invited to attend the event as part of spring parents weekend festivities.

“The Red Dress Gala is by far the event of the year! This event is planned for months and has been a huge success,” said Vice President of Health, Wellness, and Accountability Beth Payne. “Having the opportunity to support something as amazing as women’s heart health is extremely rewarding. Personally, Red Dress Gala is one of the many events that I look forward to all year.”

During February, Alpha Phi hosted a variety of other events, such as percentage nights, to fundraise for their philanthropy. One of the chapter’s goals was to create more external involvement in Heart Health Week celebrations.

In January Alpha Phi’s executive team attended their Leadership Conference in Denver, Colorado. While there, they learned that the chapter is being considered for the “Outstanding Philanthropy” award. To learn more about Alpha Phi’s philanthropy, visit https://alphaphifoundation.org/about/.
