DEVELOPING YOU AS A LEADER
We are committed to giving you valuable leadership skills through a variety of leadership opportunities. Everyone is encouraged to apply to participate in these experiences and take advantage of all that membership in a Greek organization has to offer.
UGA MIRACLE
UGA® Miracle is a student-run philanthropic organization that benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, our local Children’s Miracle Network hospital. Although UGA Miracle serves as the official philanthropy for Greek life at UGA, our Miracle family includes all types of students.
ORDER OF OMEGA
The Order of Omega was founded at the University of Miami in the fall of 1959 by a group of outstanding fraternity men, who felt that individuals in the Greek community should be recognized for their service to the fraternity system and the University. This organization is the most prestigious Greek leadership honorary in the nation and is present on over 250 college campuses in the United States. The organization selects the top 5% of Greek leaders from each campus to be members of the honorary. Each member involves themselves within the Greek community, the campus at large, as well as the local community. The Gamma Pi Chapter at UGA was founded on July 15, 1980.
EMERGING GREEK LEADERS
The Emerging Greek Leaders is an eight-week cohort-based leadership development program. The program allows students in their first year of greek membership an opportunity to hone their leadership skills. Participants will learn more about the Greek Life Office, Governing Councils, Greek Life’s history, how to be a servant leader, and why identities are important. The program also includes active learning opportunities such as group discussions and participating in community outreach.
GREEK FELLOWS
The Greek Fellows program consists of 10-20 graduates of the Emerging Greek Leaders program and/or leadership across the Greek community. The Greek Fellows are advanced leaders at UGA, who have spent time developing themselves as small group facilitators for their respective Emerging Greek Leaders students and serve as mentors during the course each spring.
