Alpha Xi Delta
Founded in 1893 at Lombard College in Galesburg, Illinois, Alpha Xi Delta is one of the oldest women’s fraternal organizations in the United States. With more than 171,000 initiated members, we are a progressive organization dedicated to the personal growth of women. The Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta was installed in 1960 on the University of Georgia campus. Through membership in Alpha Xi Delta, Sisters are inspired to realize their potential through the ideals our Founders instilled in our Fraternity: Sisterhood, leadership, knowledge, and service to our communities.

At the University of Georgia, the Sisters of Alpha Xi Delta are renowned for their active involvement in various campus organizations including Student Government Association, Red & Black, Student Alumni Council, Dawg Camp, Serve UGA, UGA Miracle, Relay for Life, and University Union. From leadership roles in student government to volunteering with local charities, Alpha Xi Delta Sisters exemplify a commitment to service and engagement within the university community. Our value of academic knowledge is evident through our involvement in Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society, Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity, Women in Business, UGA Mentor Program, and UGA LevelUp. Alpha Xi Delta members also enjoy representing the University of Georgia through Georgettes, Competitive Cheerleading, Club Gymnastics, Swim, and Cross Country.
The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our philanthropic focus on supporting children experiencing foster care or homelessness. Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations support key impact organizations making a national or regional difference under the umbrella of our focus as well as the option to collaborate with local impact organizations that support children experiencing foster care or homelessness. Our chapter supports two key impact organizations through fundraising and service opportunities for FosterClub and StandUp for Kids.
