Kappa Sigma

Since its beginning on March the 6th, 1901, the Beta-Lambda Chapter of Kappa Sigma has remained one of the most historical and impactful organizations at the University of Georgia and beyond. The history of the Kappa Sigma fraternity dates back to the 14th Century at the University of Bologna in Italy, where a secret brotherhood was formed and spread throughout select European universities.

The Beta-Lambda Chapter of Kappa Sigma is proud of its rich history of tradition and excellence at the University of Georgia, and the current brothers are honored to carry forth that tradition in the shadows of great men and their legacy. Our adamant brotherhood continually produces some of the most influential and recognizable names in the world today and throughout history. The list of notable Kappa Sigma alumni is extensive, with the most notable UGA alumni being former Governor and current secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Purdue. Many Brothers have served in various branches of the armed forces, and as our national Philanthropy is The Military Heroes Campaign give our deepest appreciation and gratitude towards all service men and women.

During the last 115 years at The University of Georgia, we strive to be second to none in all aspects of campus, including athletic endeavors, academic studies, and philanthropic events. Our social calendar includes Trophy Jam in the spring, Jackson’s Ball, tailgating and band parties in the fall, with socials and date nights throughout.  Our annual event Kristmas Σtory, benefits our national philanthropy, as well as being involved with multiple on campus philanthropies such as Heroes and Miracle.
