Help build leaders through Greek Life
You can make a positive impact on the future of Greek Life at UGA. We need the support of alumni, parents, and friends of UGA to help us continue to create and sustain leadership development programs that mold UGA Greek students into leaders. Your support is needed to operate programs like the following:
Patrick Mell Scholarship, est. 2002
The purpose of the annual Mell scholarship is to honor the late Patrick Mell, Chancellor of the University of Georgia, by providing annual scholarship(s) to members of fraternity chapters belonging to the UGA Interfraternity Council or NPHC. Mell Scholars can be juniors or seniors with a demonstrated record of contributions to and leadership in their fraternity chapters, the Greek system, and on campus. Recipient(s) will be recognized in the Spring at the annual Greek Awards Banquet.
Sophomore Leaders’ Circle
A select leadership development program for second year Greek students that focuses on leadership skills such as networking, conflict management, and integrity to better prepare future Greek leaders. This program provides students with the necessary leadership skills to deal with adversity and challenges and represent their respective chapters and the University of Georgia in a positive manner. Students who complete this program are ready to assume individual chapter and council leadership responsibilities. Additional plans include program expansion to include first year students.
Greek Ambassador Program (GAP)
GAP is an initiative designed to positively promote Greek Life on the University’s campus to prospective students, faculty, staff, and the Athens community. Ambassadors serve as official representatives of Greek Life, serving as hosts and hostesses, to provide educational support to University-wide recruitment efforts and campus visitations.
