Delta Sigma Phi

Founded in 1899 at City College of New York, Delta Sigma Phi is among the nation’s largest social fraternities. Delta Sig was first brought to the University of Georgia in 2001 and officially chartered as the Theta Chi chapter in 2003. Despite how recently the Theta Chi chapter was chartered, we have been awarded the Pyramid of Excellence, the highest honor given to a chapter within the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, three times consecutively. Comprised of a diverse group of men from all over the country, we are proud to give our members the opportunity to shape new traditions as we challenge each brother to become a better man.

The Theta Chi chapter boasts an active calendar of social events. Throughout the year we host numerous band parties, attend sorority socials, and plan date nights. We constantly compete in intramural sports and conduct brotherhood events like our annual white-water rafting trip. In the fall we host our semi-formal, the Sailors Ball, in Athens and each spring, we hold our annual formal, the Carnation Ball, in historic and respected cities such as Savannah, GA, Asheville, NC, Hilton Head Island, SC and, most recently, Ft. Walton Beach, FL.

Beyond social events, Delta Sig strives to stand out among other fraternities academically and philanthropically. In challenging each man to better himself, we consistently achieve high academic success overall and with each new pledge class. Our members are actively involved in a wide variety of clubs and organizations on campus, holding leadership positions within organizations such as Dawg Camp, Tate Society, UGA HEROs, and Arch Society. Delta Sig has also been recognized for our community service efforts being named Adopt-A-Highway Group of the Year for our roadside cleanup efforts along East Campus Road here in Athens. Additionally, we participate in numerous philanthropic events each semester, from urban revitalization projects, Relay for Life, and Dance Marathon to our annual production of the Miss Sorority Row Pageant that supports the American Red Cross.

Delta Sigma Phi is looking for future leaders to carry on the ideals of our founders. Delta Sig presents an opportunity for men, characterized by a variety of interests, backgrounds, and experiences, to join an organization that embraces the individuality of each of its members, offers leadership opportunities, and conducts itself in a professional manner while remaining affordable. So, if you are looking for a brotherhood to enrich your college experience, a fraternity that motivates you to achieve your personal best, and a chapter that will train you to be an effective campus leader, then Delta Sigma Phi is for you.
