What is Recruitment or "Rush"?
Recruitment, or "rush," is the term used for the period of requirement of new members for fraternities.  Formal Fall recruitment consists of three structured days that include an orientation meeting and mandatory visitation of each chapter house to meet members and learn more about fraternity life. After visiting each chapter, potential new members are free to visit any of the chapters for the next two days.  For information about fraternity life and how to join a fraternity, check out the 2019 Fraternity Way, IFC's annual recruitment publication. You also will be able to join us during orientation to learn more about IFC fraternities and how to join.

Where Will I Live During Recruitment?
Potential New Members who are living in UGA residence halls will be permitted to move in on Friday, August 9th. In order to reduce vehicular traffic and move-in lines, student arrival times will be staggered. Having an arrival time on Friday, August 9th will allow you to attend all orientation activities for recruitment. Specific arrival procedures will be communicated by University Housing beginning in June. Please visit the housing website for more information: http://housing.uga.edu . Please note that the Greek Life Office is not in control of the housing schedule.

What rules govern the recruitment process ?
The IFC has established rules to ensure that recruitment is a fun, rewarding, and fair system for each potential new member and fraternity. Click here to download the Recruitment Rules.
